The project will consist of 2 Phases. The first phase will consist of bridge work at the Sparta 

Bridge located on Sparta Avenue just north of Ball Creek Road. The bridge work will take 3 weeks and consist of removing the HMA from the bridge deck, adding a new membrane liner, and base layer paving. Ancillary work will 

include waterproofing and riprap placement. 

The second phase of the project will be completed by Michigan Paving and Materials and consist of: Crushing and Shaping the existing roadway followed by two courses of HMA. Shoulder grading will take place after paving is complete along with permanent pavement markings and restoration. 

The project will be closed to through traffic and open to all businesses and residents within the project limits. There will be a posted detour when the projects begins.
